{"id":14367,"date":"2024-03-14T17:38:44","date_gmt":"2024-03-14T16:38:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.imolafaenza.it\/?p=14367"},"modified":"2024-03-19T14:42:07","modified_gmt":"2024-03-19T13:42:07","slug":"mordano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imolafaenza.it\/en\/towns\/mordano\/","title":{"rendered":"Mordano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ancient town of Moretano, today called Mordano, is located in the Eastern flatland of Bologna.<br \/>\nAmongst the rows of grape vines and peach trees there are a number of important buildings displaying typical features of rural Romagna architecture.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Why visit it<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imolafaenza.it\/en\/what-to-do\/le-twin-towers-of-mordano\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Two twin towers<\/a>\u00a0stand at the entrance of the fortified center of Mordano. The towers were built at the end of the 1800s, in the place of an even older gate, inspired by the Venetian Arsenale.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>When to go and what to see<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The most important event is the Agricultural Fair\/District Contest at the end of May.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Do not miss<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In Bubano, one of the town disctricts, a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imolafaenza.it\/en\/what-to-do\/the-torrione-of-bubano\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defensive tower<\/a>\u00a0has been standing strong since the 15th century, built by the Sforza family. Today the building hosts a museum dedicated to the history and culture of this land.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Keep fit<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The territory of Mordano\/Imola\/Casalfiumanese\/Borgo Tossignano\/Fontanelice\/Castel del Rio is crossed by Santerno Valley Cycling Path: a scenic bike ride for any kind of cycling tourist who wishes to be surrounded by nature.
